Our mission is to build the world's most sustainable energy storage.
As measured by:
Clean energy added
More energy storage in electricity networks means more renewable generation captured both economically and environmentally
Lowest lifecycle costs
Flywheels greatest strength: Up to 40 year lifetimes and largely recyclable materials
Continuous innovation
To develop and sustain the world's most sustainable energy storage requires continuous innovation
Our People
Tim Erskine CEng MIET
Founder
Falcon Flywheels is founded by Tim Erskine, a Chartered Electrical Engineer with a background in power converters for nuclear fusion research. Tim became passionate about flywheel energy storage after modelling two of the largest flywheels in the world supplying the Joint European Torus fusion device.
The Future
An Innovative Team
We intend to hire several key engineering roles in rotating machine and power conversion design following seed investment stage, for the detailed design and prototype of the first Falcon Flywheel. If these might interest you, please contact us.
